Privacy Policy — Android TV

Khutba for Me ("the App") is developed by Abdalla Taha. It delivers Finnish and English translations of the Friday sermon (khutba) from participating mosques, as text and as spoken audio. This policy covers the App on Android TV and Google TV — the same app as on Android phones and tablets, set up for the TV — and explains how it handles your data.

Data We Collect

The App does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no profiles, and no advertising. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or location, and we have no way to identify you.

Data Stored on Your TV

The App stores the following locally on the TV only:

• Downloaded khutbas — the translated text and, where available, the audio file, so you can read and listen offline.
• Your listening — where you left off in each khutba, and which versions you have listened to, for the trophy and star marks.
• Your preferences — the mosque you last opened, the language, the text size, and the App's other settings.

You can delete downloads at any time from the App's settings. Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored.

Internet Access

The App connects to our server at ataha.codes to list and download khutbas. These requests carry no personal information — only which khutba is being fetched. As with any website, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, and the file requested) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to build profiles, are not shared, and are not linked to any identity.

Notifications

A TV shows no notifications, and the App offers none there. Phones use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) for notifications about new khutbas, and the App contacts it only after notifications are turned on — so on a TV it never does.

Permissions

On a TV the App requests no permissions. It asks for no location, camera, microphone, contacts, or access to your files.

Analytics & Tracking

The App contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits beyond the notification service described above, which a TV never uses. We do not use cookies or any form of user tracking.

Content

Khutbas are recorded at the mosque and translated automatically. The translation is of the sermon delivered publicly to the congregation; it contains no information about you or any other listener.

Children

The App is suitable for all ages, including a dedicated version of each khutba written for young people. Because the App collects no personal data from any user, there is nothing for us to see, share, or sell.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
